C2000 Software Diagnostic Library 5.00.01

This is version 5.00.01 of the C2000 Software Diagnostic Library. This document will
provide a list of the versions and revision history for the contents of the C2000
Software Diagnostic Library (SDL) directory.
Some versions of the SDL are certified by UL for UL 1998 and IEC 60730. See
this FAQ on E2E for the latest details.
This package contains the following device-specific User's Guides for the SDL.
- Updated documentation to list correct version number. The previous SDL release
incorrectly referred to the release as v5.00.Beta instead of v5.00.00 in some documents.
- Updated sdl_ex_flash_ecc_test and sdl_ex_ram_ecc_parity_test example documentation
across several devices to add a note about debug behavior that can cause the examples
to fail and how to work around it.
- No updates were made to the SDL code in this release.
An issue has been observed with the STL_HWBIST module on the F2838x. When injecting
errors, the device appears to get an NMI watchdog reset without allowing the application
to execute the NMI ISR and clear the corresponding NMI flag. This specifically applies
to the STL_HWBIST_TIMEOUT and STL_HWBIST_LOGIC_FAULT error types. These
error types have been removed from the STA for this release.
- Added support for the F28P65x:
- STL_CAN_RAM, STL_CPU_REG, STL_CRC, STL_HWBIST, STL_LCM, STL_March, STL_MCAN_RAM, STL_OSC_CT,
STL_OSC_HR, and STL_PIE_RAM library modules with corresponding Self-Test Application usage examples.
- Additional examples demonstrating diagnostics for Flash, RAM, missing clock detection,
the watchdog timer, and using DCSM to implement FFI.
- F28P65x Software Diagnostic Library User's Guide and API Reference.
- Added support for the F28P55x:
- STL_CPU_REG, STL_CRC, STL_March, STL_MCAN_RAM, STL_OSC_CT, STL_OSC_HR, and STL_PIE_RAM
library modules with corresponding Self-Test Application usage examples.
- Additional examples demonstrating diagnostics for Flash, RAM, missing clock detection,
the watchdog timer, and using DCSM to implement FFI.
- F28P55x Software Diagnostic Library User's Guide and API Reference.
- Added support for the F280013x:
- STL_CAN_RAM, STL_CPU_REG, STL_CRC, STL_March, STL_OSC_CT, STL_OSC_HR, STL_PIE_RAM, and STL_SP
library modules with corresponding Self-Test Application usage examples.
- Additional examples demonstrating diagnostics for Flash, RAM, missing clock detection,

- Added support for the F280015x:

- F280015x Software Diagnostic Library User's Guide and API Reference.
- Minor updates were made to the STL_CAN_RAM, STL_HWBIST, STL_OSC_HR, STL_PIE_RAM, and STL_Util
modules to fix some MISRA-C violations.
- An issue was fixed in STL_PIE_RAM_injectFault() entry parameter ASSERT check.
- Added support for the F28003x:
- STL_CAN_RAM, STL_CPU_REG, STL_CRC, STL_HWBIST, STL_March, STL_MCAN_RAM, STL_OSC_CT, STL_OSC_HR,
and STL_PIE_RAM library modules with corresponding Self-Test Application usage examples.
- Additional examples demonstrating diagnostics for Flash, RAM, missing clock detection,
the watchdog timer, and using DCSM to implement FFI.
- F28003x Software Diagnostic Library User's Guide and API Reference.
- Updated documentation for all devices to new format and added additional content to help with integration
of the library.
- Fixed an issue in the F2838x STL_MCAN_RAM module where the definition of STL_MCAN_RAM_MAX_ADDR_OFFSET
in stl_mcan_ram.h did not match the address range documented in the device technical reference manual.
- Added support for the F2838x:
- STL_CAN_RAM, STL_CPU_REG, STL_CRC, STL_HWBIST, STL_March, STL_MCAN_RAM, STL_OSC_CT, STL_OSC_HR,
and STL_PIE_RAM library modules with corresponding Self-Test Application usage examples.
- Additional examples demonstrating diagnostics for Flash, RAM, missing clock detection,
the watchdog timer, and using DCSM to implement FFI.
- F2838x Software Diagnostic Library User's Guide and API Reference.
- Updated the F28004x and F28002x libraries:
- Updated the RAM ECC/parity example to provide improved guidance on performing a test of the ECC/parity logic.
- Updated the compiler version to 20.2.1.LTS.
- Added additional access violation types to the F28004x RAM access protection example (sdl_ex_ram_access_protect).
- New examples added for both F28002x and F28004x:
- DCSM-based Freedom From Interference (FFI) (sdl_ex_dcsm_ffi)
- Software test of Flash Prefetch, Data Cache and Wait-states (sdl_ex_flash_prefetch_test)
- Added support for the F28002x:
- STL_CAN_RAM, STL_CPU_REG, STL_CRC, STL_HWBIST, STL_March, STL_OSC_CT, STL_OSC_HR, and STL_PIE_RAM library modules with corresponding Self-Test Application usage examples.
- Additional examples demonstrating diagnostics for Flash, RAM, missing clock detection, and the watchdog timer.
- F28002x Software Diagnostic Library User's Guide and API Reference.
- Updated the F28004x library:
- Improved STL_CPU_REG module to now test RPC and ST1 registers.
- Updated the compiler version to 20.2.1.LTS.
- Fixed an issue where library header files were missing closing bracket of C++ extern "C" linkage specification.
- Fixed issues in RAM access protection and Flash ECC examples.
Documentation updates, including an update to the Memory Usage section of the User's Guide which was missing several assembly functions.
This is the first public release of the F28004x Software Diagnostic Library. It is currently a beta release of the library. In the near future it will be updated to contain additional documentation to support users in achieving standards compliance.
